Thursday May 27, Laree Gardener stayed at home waiting for a call that would tell her if she would spend her summer half-way around the world or not. The phone rang, and once she picked it up she discovered that she had not received the award. She was the runner up.

Editorial: It’s only R-rated if you make it so

We all know what “she said.” And we all know what dirty jokes are, pun or no pun intended. One thing students at North have been oblivious to however, is how their actions, words and even T-shirts are representing themselves and their school.School is a learning environment and student conduct needs to be kept PG-13. Crude jokes, tactless quips and T-shirt slogans may seem all in good fun, but there is nothing funny about putting a stigma on other students who are trying to show school spirit.

Passion for rowing overcomes need for sleep

In junior Laine Maher’s third year rowing for the Detroit Boat Club, she represents North with every stroke as one of only two Norsemen on the team. She withstands brutal practices at the crack-of-dawn, and loves every second of it, hoping to continue the sport’s collegiality.
