Coach Sumbera reaches 900-win milestone

Frank Sumbera, Grosse Pointe North’s varsity baseball and varsity football coach, has achieved another great mile stone in his career as a high school baseball coach. On May 22, 2010 he achieved his 900th win in high school baseball when the Norsemen defeated the Warren Cousino Patriots 7-2.

Sophomore Amy Zaranek can be recognized by her shock of red hair on the pitcher’s mound, but that is not the only thing that makes her unique. She has been playing softball since she was in fourth grade and has been around the sport, in the forms of T-ball and baseball, since she was in kindergarten. This year, she hopes to pitch her team to success.
